In this case a mother failed (several times) to produce a child for contact, CAFCASS recommended a penal notice, mother breached the order again and father obtained an order for commital for 7 days. There is extra complication due to mother not attending court.

See the appeal write up.

Sir Mark Porter (family division president) quotes the CAFCASS report that says: contact with her father has been intermittent and this cannot be in her best interests. Contact needs to be consistent as periods of no contact cause confusion for the child and frustration for the parents.
